A carbon fibre cello case (£520) and an earlier wooden example. |
Being an unconventional violin shop means that I do not carry the widest range of cases, music stands, electronic tuners and suchlike, but nevertheless I do have a good selection of such things. At the time of writing I have, for example, eight different kinds of violin case in various colours. The prices reflect the fact that I do not have to pay for a vast storage space. I doubt you will find a good quality carbon-fibre cello case for £520 anywhere else. I have a brand new Stevenson cello case - probably the strongest case available, at £1,400. This was a cancelled order.
I can, of course, supply anything that anyone else can, and probably cheaper, too, if you can give me a little notice first.
I do not specialise in the mail-order business, as this would involve more staff and increase the costs. I'm good value, but only if you turn up here by appointment - sending things out involves altogether too much of my time.
I have a varied selection of antique cases. I have recently rescued three smart and functional crocodile-skin violin cases, for example. I have a leather W.E. Hill & Sons violin case in perfect condition. Old wooden cases can acquire a wonderful patina, but are heavy and easily damaged: best used for display only.
